Here are a few photos from the second wall i painted with Logan and Alexa (collectively known as Feed the Ponch). We just decided to freestyle and see what happened. Hopefully i'll get back and take a shot without the crazy lighting.
Im still on the portfolio grind and recently gave myself another dream job to complete. This time for Nike SB. I decided to do a campaign based around some lyrics from the Tribe Called Quest song Butter. More to come from this project soon.
Yesterday the TRANSPORT crew took part in the "City on the Move" project. We installed work from our previous show, Transport, as well as a live painting piece we finished there. If you're interested in checking it out the work will be up in Bay station.
A few days ago my sister Alexa and our friend Logan invited me to come in and help finish off this mural project. I only contributed the clouds and the shirt. Those two killed it on the kid and the fish. If you want to check it out its on Queen just west of Ossington
So I missed the Friday posting deadline. Why do you ask? Well I was printing these posters I've been working on for awhile. Better photos to follow. I'll try for a double post this week to make up for my tardiness. Cool?
Friday? Already? Damn almost missed my post again! Got a lot on the go but nothing seems to be finished. Lucky for me I had some new photos lying around. These were taken on the infamous Loot Bag Tour.
Posting in the nick of time! It was getting close to the weekly deadline and I have been scrambling to finish this illustration i've been working on for a magazine spread re-design. I wrote a fake story about the Lakai team on tour and this is the main illustration. Just realized this scan is kinda funky though. I'll try and post a better version later. This is probably the first piece i've done that was small enough to scan in over a year!
Here's another batch of work from the past few weeks. The bottom two pieces are from a series I'm currently working on based on the lyrics from the Big L track "Ebonics." I also just recently saw the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble again here in Toronto and like always they were incredible. During the show i got inspired to design a show poster for the group. Finally i thought i should try doing some layout stuff so I got to work redesigning a contents page for one of my favorite magazines Color. Let me know what you think people of the internet. Crit is welcomed with open arms!
Welcome back to post of the week. Leave it to me to do work based on terrible, but hopefully charming word play. I present the bike-sicle and the tri-sicle, just in time for the end of summer.
What up. Just keeping up with the weekly post grind here. For the last little while I've been trying to work on more design oriented work. However, i was just itching to pull out the brushes again for a bit. Here are a couple of quickies i was working on this week. More on the illustration tip, but hey, as long as you do something creative every day. Thats where i'm at right now.
I've been getting back into my sketch book lately.
This is some type I was working on and decided to try it with different wood grains i had lying around.
I have been challenged by some of my wonderful, creative friends to post something up on the ol' blog every week. Can i do it? keep checking back to find out.
"Cold Chillin'" on Tiger Wood. "Mr. Dependable" "The" Loot Bag
We're going, going, back, back to NYC, and not empty handed. Over the last few weeks illustration powerhouses Jim Mezei and Adrian Forrow, graphic design guru Jose Garcia and myself have been working on a collaborative promotional package called "Loot Bag" Here are some photos of my contribution and our stylin' bags. These are screen printed blocks of wood titled "Frozen Novelties."
Well it's been pretty long since i last posted something on this old blog. In that time i've gotten my website up. Here is some more recent work from the last two group shows i've been in.
